"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God..."

- Ephesians 2:8

Calling all young professionals! It’s time to offer some things at Emmanuel specifically for you! The first event is going to Mad Anthony’s after church Saturday, Feb. 17. We will be planning more activities soon! If you’re interested, please contact Chris Darby (cmdarby711@gmail.com) or Pastor Sheafer (pastordan@emmanuellutheran.org).

Orders for Easter Flowers to help beautify our altar on Easter Sunday, April 1, are now being taken. Order forms can be found in the February newsletter located in the Welcome Center, or Ebenezer Hall.   Please fill out the form completely, and return it, along with your payment, to the church office.  If paying by check, please make payable to Emmanuel Church.  Your flowers will be available for pick-up following the 11:00 a.m. worship service on Easter morning.  Deadline for ordering is Sunday, March 11.

Children’s Sunday School – Today, we will not hold the regular children’s Sunday School classes in order to allow our Sunday school teachers to attend an instructional meeting.  Instead, we will offer a group event during the Sunday school hour for all school age children.  Please join us in the school gym.

Prayer of Thanksgiving for Birthdays – Thank God for the following birthdays, and ask Him to provide peace and fullness of life for those who serve Him.  We thank Him for their faithful example.

December 24 – Christmas Eve  falls on a Sunday this year, and because of this we will have only one morning worship service that will begin at 10:00, along with the celebration of Holy Communion.  There will be no Sunday School or Bible Classes.  Christmas Eve services will be held at their regular times: 7:00 p.m. for our Family Service and 11:00 p.m. for our Candlelight Service.  New Year Eve’s also falls on a Sunday, but we will have our regular scheduled services  at 8:00 and 10:30 am. with the celebration of Holy Communion at the 8:00 service.  There will be no Sunday School, but there will be a Bible class to hear Deaconess Christel Neuendorf share her experiences serving the Lord in Latin America and the Caribbean.  Our New Year’s Eve service will be held at 7:00 p.m. with the celebration of Holy Communion.

Reformation And Luther Day – On Sunday, October 29, we will celebrate the Reformation’s 500th Anniversary and Martin Luther. Join us for a “Luther Lunch” after late service (good German food in lower Ebenezer Hall), followed by a viewing of Rick Steves's special, Luther and the Reformation, filmed in Germany and Rome. SIGN UP BY SUNDAY, OCTOBER 22, on the sheet in Ebenezer Hall. An $8 donation will be collected at the door.
